Hey everyone!

I really need help! I'm having issues with my iphone 7 plus. I have had and used every iphone since the 3g and I've never had anything like this happen before.

So, yesterday all of a sudden my iphone 7+ showed a black screen with a spinning white wheel. It was stuck like that and after multiple attempts at simultaneously pressing the power and volume down buttons, I finally got the apple logo. But then it was stuck like that for almost 5 minutes. When it finally turned on the same thing happened all over again. Finally the phone turned on, but then I couldn't use any app.. like the alarm clock or the weather app. They were all crashing.

Can someone please help? What should I do?

Thanks so much

You need to back your iPhone up via iCloud or iTunes. Best way to see if it fixes the issue is to set up as new phone (after restore), use it for a while and see it it faults. If it doesn't, restore from your backup and see if its still fixed.

I tried to do a hard reset by plugging in to itunes. I got the option for restore and update. Itunes is trying to update my device to 10.1.1 but the update keeps stopping and I keep getting errors.

However, when I check on the iphone under software update, it says my iphone is already up to date to 10.1.1

So, then I tried plugging the phone to my laptop and itunes says I need to update again?

And I keep getting the black screen with the spinning wheel!

What's going on?

If you can not back it up it is time to go the Apple. Problem is if they replace your phone you will not have a hard iTunes backup and will be depending on the cloud. If there is a bad app or something else wrong that could be restored to your new phone. Might be time to start over.

There was a small update to 10.1.1. Not saying this will help.

No. How should I do that?

If I erase everything, Can I restore a backup from itunes? Or would the problem return?

Thanks in advance!

Try plugging to itunes and hit restore.
Then select setup as new.
If its a software bug in your backup file then the same issues will keep transfering back if you restore from that backup file.
Test it out for a day or 2 and see if that fixes it.
Sounds like a software issue though.
Before you go to Apple do a restore with itunes first.
That's what they will do also when you get there before replacing it.

Thank you very much!

But, I guess that means I have to add all my apps and contacts etc manually? That will be a pain! :)
