Please need help viewing evocam on a pc

I need some help. I recently purchased an evocam for my ibook.
I had the trial version of the evocam on my desktop....it worked perfectly and I could see it at my office at work.
So, I decided to purchase the evocam to set up to an ibook. I have the camera set up and I can see the video on my desktop in the other room, but not on a pc.
Recently someone tried to break into my house, so I want the webcam to be in another room on the laptop.

I have it set to port 8080, I have the firewall turned off, I upgraded Java on the pc...but nothing. I am also VERY technically challenged, so I have no idea what I am doing.

I would really appreciate anyones help....

Just to be clear - you have 2 laptops running EVO cam and both are on port 8080?

If that is true, You will need to change one port from 8080 to something like 8081 and restart evo cam on that machine.

Also, make sure your router firewall has port forwarding enabled for 8080 & 8081.
