please please help about replacement screen

i have a a1151 macbook pro 17 inch i broke the screen which is a lp171we2 (tl)(a1)i found one but it is from a hp laptop will it work it is the same model number i have searched high and low for this answer so please dont beat me up or does it have to be apple specific i am just looking for a cheap repair being it is 4 yrs old

i ve been searching google for every combo of words and have found nothing but some guy on ebay selling screens and said macbook screens had edid chip but that is the only place and he was selling screens so was he getting his mac premium or telling the truth PLEASE HELP
