Please Please Help!! Keyboard Shortcuts don't work

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I have searched the forum & internet to no solution.

Basically, the keyboard shortcuts (space is hand tool, apple space is zoom, tab is tool bar etc. etc.) are no longer working in Adobe Illustrator.

I have tried deleting prefs etc. but am now like an Apple without ram!


PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!
