HI

I tried to install osx lion on my macbook pro yesterday. I have wondows on it also which is working at this time.

at first it wouldnt let me install onto the mac partition of my hd telling me it was locked, i played around with disk utility for a bit and it told me that the drive needed repairing but it wouldnt let me click repair.

i turned off the mac.

now it boots straight into windows. if i hold option at startup it brings up only the windows partition.

I have a time machine backup but i dont know how i can use it when i cant even get into the mac os.

Any help at all would be so greatly appreciated

thanks Matt

You can't repair a disk that is in use by the OS. You have to boot off your SL DVD and run the disk utility in there. You can also chose "restore from backup" after booting from the DVD to restore.
