Please, please help..... White screen, nothing works....

So, I've got the dreaded White screen of death, and was working fine only moments before the White screen happened. I was on Skysports, then closed the MacBook, I reopened the book moments later and it froze. I hard rebooted and then the White screen popped up, gears still spinning.... Tried the ol' curl-alt-p-r, tried taking the battery out and pressing the power button for 5 secs and turning it on again..... Still nothing but White screen.... I put the Snow Leopard disk in and rebooted again, but still nothing.... Fan seems to be on, but apart from that, nothing else happens. Got some important stuff on the harddrive that I was working on moments before the freeze, and didn't back up..... Help..... Anyone.....
