PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE HELP with XVID

I have a German movie from 1994 that has like 60 xvid files. They say this:
videostar-dbm.xvid.ro2
videostar-dbm.xvid.ro3

I have tried all the basics like VLC etc and they don't recognize xvid files. THen I tried to convert xvid to mp4 to watch on my Itunes with Prism and when I open it, the files don't highlight to be uploaded into Prism, I've tried Iskysoft and nothing. What can I do? I'm so beyond frustrated and appreciate ANY help anyone can advise. Thanks so much.
