glitter lamps are welcome too

i am gonna get my collection and put it on display instead of being in boxes at the moment - so i will take pix on tuesday when it happens - also pictures of glitter lamps are welcome.
 
i used to be a bit of a lavalamp fanatic. i had 2 mathmos lamps at one point. a telstar and a jet. i still have the jet, the telstar broke unfortunately but i now have an equally nice "astro baby".:D

i have just under a hundred mathmos lamps mostly astrobabies and i have jets and astros and fluidiums nothing like the original and in the states there is lavaworld but they stink cos they outsourced to china no longer chicago usa made.
 
Mmmm... soothing lava lamps! They'd make for a nice screensaver.

:confused: How's that useful? I could press it without knowing and turn off anything nearby

Safety standards - I presume if your appliance goes on fire you can isolate it from the power supply.
I'm sure there's a valid reason, that's just the first thing that came off the top of my head.
