What I'm wondering is could it be because they all have tiger and i'm running leopard? I have disabled every firewall possible. I have 10.4.11 and cannot figure this out at all. Please somebody help me.

what exactly are you trying to do? all you said was ichat. are you text chatting? video chatting? what?

tiger and leopard work fine together. i highly doubt there would be an issue with that.

oh sorry i'm trying to video chat . . . and i had to take some stuff out of that report that i didn't think was important because of the character limit so hope it doesn't matter.

- Repair permissions on your disk via Disk Utility.
- Create a new user account (OSX account) and try it there. If it works there you have a corrupt preference or system file.
- Might need to reinstall iChat.
- Have you tried using Skype to see if it's even an iChat issue at all? Could be a problem with your iSight camera.
- Try an Archive and Install via your install discs as a final step.

edit: Just noticed the log file indicates your have 10.4.11 installed. Are you sure you have Leopard?

Does this happen only when you video chat?
If you can text chat with someone but not video chat its most likely a network setting.

Are you connected to the internet wirelessly? If you are try connecting to a hotspot at barnes and nobles etc. also check to see if you have any firewalls enabled.
