Hey

I'm setting up Boot Camp for the first time on my new Mac.

I haven't done any formatting to the drive, I just set it up as it came.

When trying to install Boot Camp I get the error message:
"The disk cannot be partitioned because some files cannot be moved. Back up the disk and use Disk Utility to format it as a single Mac OS Extended (Journaled) volume. Restore your information to the disk and try using Boot Camp Assistant again."

I really don't want to have to format the drive if I don't absolutely have to.

Any ideas would be appreciated
Thankyou
Alexander

How much stuff do you have on your drive? Sounds like you might have some large files it's having trouble moving on the drive to make space.

You can try making the partition in Disk Utility instead, but I've seen the same problem there too when Boot Camp has given me that message.
