these look very nice, better than the bumper imo, and smaller.

Was never a fan of the bumper, thought it was just another RDF spin from Apple. However OP, this does look slick, especially because you get the front and back protectors. The only concern would be how tight does the bumper fit and will it stretch out over time. Yeah I would say jump on it as opposed to getting the Apple version.

the issue with the apple bumper's flex comes from the rubber section surrounding the headphone jack allowing the whole piece to go out of square when pressure is placed on it. the result is minimal movement, but scratches nonetheless. this sgp is nice, but i wish they would use metal button replacements instead of the rubber pieces that they color to look like metal. aside from this minor complaint the case does seem to be better than the apple bumper.

Exactly how does an apple bumper case scratch a steel and glass phone? I've seen this mentioned several times but don't see how it is possible.

I presume what happens is lint from pockets get caught in between the bumper and phone and scratch the phone. Stuff like sand that sort of thing. The actual bumper doesn't.

i keep my phone (and bumper) clean but you'd be amazed at the gunk that accumulates inside the bumper. if any grit manages to sneak inside scratches are bound to happen. it's not a huge deal to me since the phone will inevitably sustain some wear but the slight movement of the bumper because of one corner's flexibility is a little annoying.

i sent an email off to sgp asking for custom color combinations. i have a white back on my iphone and so i'd prefer a white silicon surround as opposed to the black that comes with the satin silver frame. i'll post their reply.

those do look nice!
I assume I'll be able to dremmel the headphone jack and apple plug hole larger to fit 3rd party accessories.

Those definitely look better than the bumper but I still would not put one of those on my phone. It's just not enough protection for everyday use.

Very nice. I like the dark metalic one. Hope it fits snug and doesn't move at all. BTW i put the lucky decal wrap around the antenna and then use the bumper. This will help prevent the scratching some are having.

Looks great. I'm just desperate to get my hands on a white "bumper" so whether it's this or the iBand I'm all for it.
