Plex sometimes hangs when opening a Movie

Hi, I have a Mac Pro which is running Snow Leopard. every so often when I open a movie using Plex, after Plex loads, a message appears saying "Opening File" but the screen just stays like that, I have to force quit plex. Then every movie I play after that loads fine. Any help is greatly appreciated
