Hi,

According to the store, this Blu-Ray writer does not work with mac (OS X SL): http://www.mpx.no/k/ki.aspx?sku=646320

Anyone knows if this is true or not ? I find it hard to belive that I can not connect this writer to my mac, and use it to burn (my own made) homemovies to blu-ray, and also import some of my bought blu-ray disc into my mac, and further on to my iPad2.

But maybe there is some kind of driver or something that mac os x is missing ?

I've got a Plextor external Blu-Ray reader (not writer)

OS X doesn't provide any native support for Blu-rays but certain applications do. I've read Roxio Toast allows burning. Check their website to see if they list compatible/incompatible drives.

There's a few competing ripping applications and some of these provide playback to. MakeMKV which works well for ripping but I find playback doesn't always work when running other media servers. There's a very good thread in the Apple TV and home theatre section about automating usage.
