Hello,

surely this topic has been posted before, but here is it again: what application to use to properly edit a PLIST file?

For the reminder, no, PLIST files are NOT just fancy XML files. They use bineary and have done so for the past few years. So a simple XML editor just won't cut it.

TextWrangler opens .plist files just fine. It converts the binary format on the fly when opening and saving.

I used to use PlistEdit Pro in the early days of Hackintosh. That's how I got the Athlon 64 I used to own working with 10.4.

A quick solution to this:

Install XCode form the App Store

Launch it - let it go thru it's nonsense

Find a PList File > Get Info > Open With

Change to XCode > Click Change All

(are you sure you want to change > Continue..)

Looks like Apple just incorporated the old PList Editor back into the core of XCode - similar window opens and very similar functionality as well.

Thanks but XCode is not available for Snow Leopard in the App Store.
