Plug gaming PC into IMAC?

Could I plug my gaming PC into a mid 2010 imac? Would that be stupid or a good blend of mac and upgradable gaming pc?

I have an okay 20" dell display, but this would allow me to get a mac and a nicer display for my gaming. Im trying to decide weather to do the imac or a macbook pro.

Any pros and cons or suggestions? I dont need much portability, but a nice laptop would be nice in the long run, but so would an imac with a super nice display.

You could do this on the 2010 iMac (with a HDMI or VGA to mini displayport adapter) but I would say that unless you really have a particularly good reason to get a mac, just buying a better display would be much much cheaper - and, later on, if you wanted a mac, you could buy a mac mini to connect to it.
