plug in iPod, iTunes stops!

Hey,

There's something that really annoys me about iTunes: let's say I'm listening to Abbey Road, and I plug in my iPod (just to be charged, update, etc.). Suddenly, the next song on Abbey Road won't play- after the current song finishes, it's over! This is because it switches to the "iPod" menu and off of "Library".

Any way to fix it so that iTunes stays focused on the library? Thanks!

That's strange. It's always annoyed me how iTunes does this and I haven't figured out a way to stop it, but even though the iPod is selected when plugged in, my music continues playing in the background for as long as I want (it's looped). Are you playing from Library, a playlists or somewhere else? Are you looping the tracks? Is your iPod set to be manually updated?

thanks for the response Mad Jew, i thought i was forgotten.

i feel like i'd been struggling with a problem forever, brought it into the Genius Bar, and now I can't repeat it the issue! My music keeps going, from the library or the playlist.
