Plugging into slower 5 watt charger.

I tried my 5 watt charger I use for my phone and the MacBook Pro charged very slowly but it stayed for the most part a steady % only going down 1% while using it for half hour. I am wondering is it better for the battery to use a slow charger so the battery won't overcharge when using staying around 1-3% range or will it cause issues?

Also I know about AlDentie which I will never do again it made it that my battery would not charge no more even after uninstalling it. I had to reset the SMC to get it to start to charge again.
