After playing with the X and Plus believe it or not the Plus is easier to use with one hand. Even the Note 8 and S8 are easier. Believe it or not it has to do with the bezels and home button. When you’re using a Plus or non Plus with one hand using pinky shelf your thumb is right there without hardly any adjusting. And to access reachability all you do is tap quickly 2x on the home button.

To access the app drawer on the X on pinky shelf for me it’s kind of straining and not fluid because it’s all the way down the button. Forget about reachability it’s even worse. If the app drawer was higher like Plus and non Plus and even Android and a soft key the X would be a breeze to handle.

Have you actually used those two devices in your day to day life or you just made up this conclusion with 5 minutes of use in a store ?

Yep used the X for 2 weeks. Also had a Plus in the past for a lot longer than 2 weeks. Also been using my wife’s 6S Plus to test. Never said the X can’t be used 1 handed. I said the Plus is actually easier to use 1 handed than the X.

Alright, fair enough. Although I have a hard time believing someone will actually agree with you, I just can’t see how a physically bigger phone is easier to use one-handed than a smaller phone.

It’s the way the navigation is layed out and accessing certain things like reachability.

wow. The new galaxy S8/S8+. Amazing.

Don’t know it’s amazing but the app drawer and other stuff is located in about the same way as the Plus and non Plus. It’s right there and much easier than the X. Put a case with lay on the table and you have to ‘dig’ to get reachability to work. The Plus a tap no swipe easy peasy with a case with lay on the table.

Absolute funny AF theories :))). You simply bored? Please stop.

Actually was going to get the X again. Went to the store tried it out and couldn’t figure out cause ‘something was wrong’. Kept wondering why the Plus was easier to use 1 handed. Then I went to look at Android devices and noticed where everything on the bottom was raised like the Plus and non Plus. And the soft key was where the Plus and non Plus is. Then I put the X and Plus together and actually utilizing the full screen with apps is a hinderance.

LOL!

I use my 6s+ with two hands.

Not dropping a ~$900 dollar phone and explaining to my wife why we have to fork over ~$300 to replace it because I was lazy.

As someone who has used both the iPhone X and iPhone Plus models over the years. The iPhone plus for me is to unwieldy to use one handed and uncomfortable to reach across the display with my thumb. I easily can manage the iPhone X one handed and not have it become uncomfortable as the Plus model was.

Why is it so important to be able to use the phone one-handed all the time? And why is it so important to create thread announcing to the internet that the plus model work best for you, as if we were all sitting around wondering. Are you trying to convince others or yourself, that you made the right decision? Looks to me like you are needing validation from stangers. Ask yourself why that is.

Pick the phone that works for you and get on with your life.

I use control center a lot, and putting it on the top is non sense to me. I'm an 8+ owner, so I don't have that problem but every time I try an X I ask myself how could they possibly put that function over there.
8+ is bigger and bulkier, but X has a taller display and that means you can't easily reach the top part of the display one handed. You have reachability on both models, but it is way more convenient to activate it via the home button on the 8+ via a double tap.
I love the swipe up gesture to go home and I'm totally sold on the lack of home button, apart from reachability. And I know I'm going to get a future version of X sooner or later, I'm not keeping my 8+ forever.
iOS should be redesigned to put all the common functionalities and buttons at the bottom of the screen, when everyone is going to reach them no matter how big their hands are.

Not at the very bottom like it is now. The app drawer is too low and reachability is on the edge of the screen. If you have a case with lay on the table reachability is hard. If they put control center there it will be hard too.

The best place for reachability and control would be the space above the app drawer or make a soft key where you can tap.

This is a forum and we are just discussing. I actually don’t like the Plus it’s not pocketable although it’s easier to navigate with 1 hand than the X.

I’m completely happy with my 8 non Plus and wanted to see what was wrong with the X that I had for 2 weeks and returned.

Coming from a 6S+ for a couple of years to an X, I also have to disagree with the OP. I find the X far more useable 1 handed.

But we all have our preference in what works for us. That said the title should probably be changed to “Plus is easier to Use One Handed than the X... for me.” Much the same as the X is easier to use one handed than the Plus... for me :)

This is what I have never understood about a device.

I would wager that a large number of broken phones or cracked screens are because people were trying to one hand a several hundred dollar device.

I get that it's easier (lazier) to use a device with one hand, but any time I've dropped my phone is because I was using it with one hand (whatever I was doing).

I paid over $900 for my 6s+ and I have a couple payments left. I'm not about to risk dropping it because one-handed use seems to be a popular thing.

I don't buy my phones because lazily using it in one hand is a feature to me. Screw that. Two hands, I don't drop it and life goes on.

Even my 4s and my 5 are handled with two hands.
