Hi, I am new to Macbook. I used to have a sound card for my old windows laptop.
Now, I just have a MacBook and a Grado SR 125 Headphone, I am wondering how can I make a better quality of Music(which all my music formart are either ape or flac). I hear there is a sort of optical staff come with macbook, however, I am still confused about all the info I read on internet.

so you guys have any suggestions for me, really appriciated.

plenty of excellent speaker systems out there (e.g., bose). If you can play to you headset you should be able to do it with external speakers. look at the sound system preferences.
 
thanks man, I am not feel like to buy a new external speaker system. I already have a nice Headphone. I found M-Audio Firewire 410 and M-Audio Fast Track Pro, both of them are seem to be able work, you know either of them cost hundred bucks and i am not a pro like to record something, I just look forward better sound quality, then i can enjoy some music. I have make sure before i make a decision to buy something.
Anything else guys?

Hmmm. Any particular reason for the downgrade to a Mac as a listening platform?

Anyway, there are lots of headphone DAC-amps around which use USB.
