Plz Help!! I cant add music to my iTunes...:(

Can anyone help me? I cant add any music to my itunes. i have a few that i did from a cd, but when i try to download music from my desktop ect. It wont do anything at all. iv tried dragging and file>Add folder/file ect.
Can anyone help?

Can you play the music in QuickTime?

Make sure you have the latest version of itunes.

a wise man once told me that if you're having any problems with your computer and you've tried most commonsense approaches, try restarting the machine.

i don't know how restarting makes a difference, but it's worked for me. last night, actually, i couldn't get a program to launch properly and i restarted and the program worked fine.

try it.

The files are not WMP (windows media player) files are they?
iTunes don't do WMP.

iTunes for Windows should be able to convert WMAs to an iTunes-playable format such as MP3.

Whenever I do this, I tend to find that my inattentive ass is trying to drag music into a smart playlist :-|
