Well I'm switching over to mac. Can't decide on an old DP1ghz or a new one. It will be used for graphic design. I would like to hear everyones opinion. I am also getting a new monitor. I have the chance at a new Lacie 19" Blue for $200.00 or a new IBM P202 21" trinitron for $200.00. Both are great prices. Wish I could get both, but need to save for software. Thanks guys

they are going to be pretty close to the same performance-wise, but the new one has a few features you may want to think about...

pros...
you can put up to 2gb of ram instead of 1.5gb
up to 4 hard drives without needing scsi
dual optical drives may come in handy

cons...
ddr can get more expensive than pc133 sdram
the case is ugly

These are good points but the man is asking about useability so leave oppinions out of this.

The case appearance is something that I personally think is better then the quicksilver and on top of that I have yet to hear from anyone who has used them and been around them for a while that still thought they were ugly.

The DDR ram with Direct Memory Access fromt the PCI and ATA systems will be a big advantage for people in the graphics industry.
