Hello-

I am wondering if it's possible to use a GeForce 6600GT 256mb AGP card in this machine?

I have this card from another machine that a friend gave me. It was out of a PC, but is a perfectly good card, and would be an upgrade to the 64mb GeForce FX5200 card that's currently in the G5 we have.

Thanks!

I think so. But you'd need to flash the ROM to the Mac version... making sure it's the AGP version, not the PCI-E version of the 6600.

Any idea how you might do that?

I know its a kinda of involved process and you are going to need a PCI Video card to do it so that you can burn the GeForce 6600 card in your AGP slot. I know you can pick up a Mac PCI Video Card off of eBay from really cheap. There are also several how to websites, just google it. I have never done it before but I looked into doing it once.

Hope this helps!

Yeah, I've been looking around, I can't seem to find anything on flashing a card from a PC bios to a Mac bios, specifically for this card.
