Here's the spec:

• Dual Core 2.0 G5
• 1Gb Factory RAM (2x 512mb)
• DL Superdrive
• GeForce 6600
• MacOS X 10.4.6
• Final Cut Studio 5.1

Here's the trouble:

About two weeks ago the machine started freezing. By freezing, I mean that every 10-15 min it would just completely lock up. Mouse freeze, any videos playing would freeze, and a red LED inside the casing would turn on.

First this would happen when rendering video in FCP5, then it only happened on occasion (I could watch two or three DVDs before a crash), but now it's happening within 5min of boot, or sooner.

The LED that keeps lighting up is No.7 on the logic board, which is, according to the apple support site, a "call apple" light.

Because we couldn't afford to plump for AppleCare, we're going to have to take it to the shop, but I was just wandering if anybody knew what it meant - it has to be a logic board fault methinks because I've done a MacOS reinstall with a Zero-Out on the drive, and it's still having the trouble - but now it crashes when it gets halfway through downloading any updates...

Any insight would be mucho appreciated ;)
