Hi!
I currently have a bunch of late 2005 PMG5 motherboards (including quads) that have those dumb and fragile front panel board-to-board connectors damaged heavily. Otherwise, those boards should be fine and I want to restore them and keep as spares instead of trashing.

The first and most reasonable thing is to replace connectors with new ones, but I spent two evenings trying to find exact same connector on Mouser or Digikey with no success.

Maybe someone know which type of connector is it, or maybe even exact p/n?

Best regards

Measured connector dimensions today:
  • Is is 1.2 mm pitch
  • Has 2 rows, 12 pins each, 24 in total
Unfortunately, no signs of such 1.2 mm pitch headers in sale for now.

Thanks! I already restored one board the same way as you did and it works perfectly. Unfortunately, other boards have multiple pins ripped off in this connector and I have no idea how to restore them. :(

Is there a way to get creative with other type of connectors, maybe with a detachable cable harness directly soldered to the board? Quite a task for sure…
