PMG5 slow boot

So, powermac g5 DP 2.0 4gb ram dead FireWire. Takes a little over 6 minutes to boot. I am guessing the FireWire is part of the problem? Fresh install, blah blah, verified by sticking hdd in another g5, issue goes away. Nothing plugged in. 3rd party FireWire card.

Ideas?

Dead FireWire from what?

The why the FireWire died may be more the issue. Solder joints on the ram slots were an issue, reseating video, memory and processors may help. Reset the Cuda button by the ram and use the ASD (apple service disc 2.5.8) disc to set the fans and test the motherboard. I have rescued two G5's doing this. Got lucky h ram slots were not the issue.
