Pny 256gb usb 3

Got a PNY 256GB USB 3 flashdrive on CyberMonday. Opened it today and when I insert it into the USB port it just blinks.

OS X Yosemite does not see it.
Windows 8 does not see it either.

Just blinks and then stops.

Check if it appears in System Profiler or Disk Utility!

Tried that and it does not show up. Returning to Amazon post haste.
