PNY Memory Card not Compatible with my MBP?

I have a few memory cards, and all seem to work. I use some generic card reader and all my cards work with it.

I just got a new PNY Technologies Optima CF 1gig card. When I put it in my computer, I get the mesage "Disk Insertion, The disk you inserted was not readable by this computer"

I get three buttons, Initialize, Ignore, and Eject. If I click Initialize, it opens Disk Utility, and I won't let me format it.

Any ideas?
