Podcast app annoying bugs

I don't know if I am doing something wrong or this app is really as broken as it appears but Im having very annoying issues. The main annoyance is I go through each podcast subscription and hit the mark all as played button so that It doesn't notify me for episodes I already listened to. After a few hours they all start showing notification of old episodes. I've done this over and over and it just keeps happening. It's so frustrating, does anyone know of a way to fix this permanently or does anyone have a recommendation of a better app for podcast besides the iTunes app.

Yep. Same problem here. I use an app called Downcaster. I highly recommend it.
