Podcast Mark As Played Issue

I have had an issue since 18.5 but it is also in all beta versions of 26 but I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere so I thought I would ask on here.

Basically in the podcast app if I listen to a podcast, it correctly gets marked as played. If I exit the app and go back in, the podcast is still marked as played. However, if I kill the app and reload it, the podcast appears as unplayed every single time.

Does anybody else have this issue?
