Podcast playback times not accurate

I was listening to a podcast last night, watching the time counter go up, and I noticed that roughly every 4th second, it would skip one. E.g., 1:00, 1:01, 1:02, 1:03, 1:05, 1:06

Has anyone else seen this happen? It was with the latest episode of This American Life...
