Podcast problem - recording with imic and external mic.

Hi,

I am trying to record a podcast using an external mic. and imic.

For some reason I can not do the recording with the external
mic and imic.

I have recorded a podcast using only the internal mic of my ibook
and the recording has been a good one. However, I would like to
use the external mic. because the quality of the recording "may be
better".

The software I am using is garage band, and a link to the
