Podcast subscriptions without iTunes?

To save you a long and boring story of why I want to know, I'm just going to ask. Is it possible to have automatic download of podcasts to an iDevice without going the route through iTunes?

Thanks. PodCruncher seems to be a great solution, except for the fact that the setting to only keep the unplayed episodes doesn't work. But manually removing podcasts is less of a pain than having to go through iTunes
