iPod touch Podcast syncing messed up

I subscribe to a lot of Podcasts, and, of course, they won't all fit on my iPod touch.

I have it set-up, so it only syncs 1 most recent episode, although, for some reason, in the case of CNET Podcasts, GeekBrief.tv, Apple Keynotes, Apple QuickTips, Best of YouTube, Best Of... (Revision3), Internet Superstar, Mac News Weekly, MacMost, MacWorld, Pets and Tekzilla... they don't obey this rule.

For instance, I said to sync 1 most recent Podcast, but now I have (On some Podcasts) over 200 episodes synced, and they are all part of the same podcast!!

Is iTunes messed up, or is it a setting that needs to be changed?
