I created a smart playlist and these podcasts that have been deleted from my library and that do not show up in the podcasts section are in the smart playlist and i can not find them in itunes or delete them.

/user/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/Podcasts

Are they in path above? Do they play fine in Smart Playlist?

nope they aren't there and they don't play and thats fine their supposed to be deleted, its just the meta data appears in iTunes only in the smart playlist

Delete them from the smart list too, then they should be gone forever

thats the problem i can't delete them because they are in a smart playlist, and i can't find them in the library because they don't appear in the search.

Reviving an old thread.....

I've got the same problem as the OP. Podcasts show up in a smart playlist I created to find errors with my iTunes match. Podcasts only show in the smart playlist, not anywhere else in my library. Unable to delete them (because it's a smart playlist), and yet unable to locate them anywhere.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Eureka! You can delete a file from your library even when you're doing it THROUGH a playlist by pressing alt/option and delete on the Mac.

I'm sure glad THAT was published somewhere. Honestly. Apple can be so frustrating sometimes.

Found the answer with some further searching :)
