Podcasts Stream but Still Take Space

I use the standard Podcasts app for podcasts. I have new episodes download on my iPhone but have them not download on the iPad. On the rare occasion I listen to a podcast on the iPad, I stream. Despite this setting on my iPad, the Podcasts app takes up 1.7GB of space. Does anyone else have this problem?

I ended up fixing the problem myself. I thought I'd share in case someone else comes across the problem.

It's simple. Just remove all data and restore from backup. Now my podcasts don't take up hardly any space. It's just 30MB or so.
