I am looking into a point and shoot for my mother, for an Easter present. It would be mostly for close-ups on people and scenery on vacations. I would like it to be less than $300, and it needs to be somewhat poratable. Video is wanted, but not needed. Thanks for help!!!

Hi,

I have just purchased a Nikon AW100 for my daughter. Its a cracking little point and shoot, produces some excellent photographs AND.... ( drum roll )

Its water proof / shock proof. Remarkable little piece of kit.

Regards.

Fujifilm FinePix Real 3D W3 is lots of fun.

Caveat about the screen in bright sunlight, also about battery stamina.

The camera has a glasses-free 3D screen, and HDMI out that you can use with a 3DTV, and it can record both a 2D and 3D file at the same time. Fujifilm also has a 3D prints service.
