I am new to the Mac and am loving my PowerBook G4. Just got Leopard 10.5.4 on today and it's even better.

Anyway, the one thing that spoils my experience is the pointer. Why doesn't it change when you are hovering over the corner of a window? I have lost count of the number of times I have tried to resize a window but missed and dragged something below to somewhere I didn't want it.

In Windows the pointer changes while you are over the edge or corner of a window so you know you are in the right place to resize.

Is there anyway the Mac can do this too?

It doesn't change...because the Mac doesn't work that way. Mac windows are only resizable via the bottom right hand corner of the window.. You'll notice the texture should be slightly different there.

No way around this that I know of...

Indeed, there's no way to change this.

On the other hand, in Windows I'll occasionally start resizing a window from the top edge when I meant to drag the titlebar and move the window. Sigh...

Thanks both. I suppose there are pros and cons in everything.

I am sure I will get used to it. I'll just need to be a bit more precise with my movements.
