Is there a pointy (pointier) stylus that is compatible with the iPhone (X or newer) screen?

I like using the iPhone’s basic photo editing software to mark up technical photos that I’ve taken. It’s difficult using your finger, or even one of those fat, soft styli, to point out a specific circuit or relay.

I searched the forum and found that a similar question was asked three years ago, but it received no responses. Any progress since then?

I've had an Adonit Jot Dash stylus for a number of years and it works pretty well on the iPhone and other glass touchscreen devices. First got it for my iPhone 6s Plus but it also works on my 12 Pro Max so I assume it would work on other models. Originally got it to use with some iOS GIS software (for making maps) and it helped quite a bit for that, but I no longer use that software on my phone.

Looks like it has been replaced with this model, but the same company makes a variety of others.

Not sure why @Steve Adams thinks there isn't anything available, but maybe I'm missing something?

Cool. I was under the understanding there was nothing available for non pencil devices other than the one i posted. I am going to have to try that adonit. Thanks for the link.

The Adonit has an internal battery, which sets it aside from passive devices. A couple days ago, I dug out mine to test a mobile web app I'm developing. I couldn't even remember the last time I used that stylus, it was surely over a year ago. But the battery was still charged - that surprised me.

But don't get the wrong idea, its fine point helps select things or draw more accurately. It's not like an Apple Pencil, the iPhone doesn't have the hardware to support that. Evidently the battery just allows it to have the same capacitive properties of a finger, there's no bluetooth and it doesn't actively communicate with the phone like an Apple Pencil does with an iPad.

Thank you, sir. That may be just what I need.
