Pokémon Go recently announced that Sprint and Starbucks locations have officially been added into the game as Pokéstops and Gyms. The Sprint collaboration began yesterday with over 10,500 Sprint locations around the United States supporting the GPS-based game, including Sprint, Boost Mobile and Sprint at Radioshack stores. In-store charging stations are also being offered to players so they can keep playing the game longer.

Today, another U.S.-based collaboration will begin at 11 a.m. PST, where 7,800 Starbucks stores around the country will turn into Pokéstops and Gyms to entice players to visit the popular coffee shop more often. In celebration of the partnership, the company has also created a new Pokémon Go Frappuccino for customers to try out while they hunt Pokémon in the game.

By locating a Starbucks® store within Pokémon GO, players will discover the Pokémon GO Frappuccino® blended beverage. The Pokémon GO Frappuccino® starts with a Vanilla Bean Frappuccino® blended beverage and raspberry syrup blended with freeze dried whole blackberries and topped with whipped cream. It's the perfect treat for any Pokémon Trainer on the go.

The Pokémon GO Frappuccino® blended beverage will be available at participating Starbucks® stores for a limited time while supplies last.
The partnership news this week precedes a new generation of Pokémon coming to the game sometime soon. In the Sprint press release, Niantic CEO John Hanke teased fans and said to "keep an eye out on our social media channels on December 12th for details about the first addition of more Pokémon into Pokémon Go." The specific amount and generation of Pokémon that will be added to the game was not given, so fans will have to wait until next Monday to find out.

Pokémon Go can be downloaded from the iOS App Store for free. [Direct Link]

Have they fixed this game yet so a person can again play as a passenger or on a run above 7 mph? It's too freezing cold to take this game out on a walk. I have to walk my dog daily, but she pulls on her leash and needs constant supervision so I can't catch Pokemon walking with her. And we have had a lot of cold rainy days lately. I prefer this game on road trips for that reason, especially in cold weather. But with the last change it became unusable for me on most outings.

People still play this?

I stopped after I hatched a 10km egg and an Aerodactyl came out. I wanted a Lapras. Didn't want to keep trying after being disappointed that time.

Oooh! I member Pokemon and Starbucks. Do you member?

Yeah I member. You member Sprint? The pin drop? Used to be a huge company?

I no member :(

You member. Yellow, worst carrier, completely irrelevant?

Oooh! I member. You member the Death Star?

Member storm troopers? Not those storm troopers - the real ones.

Yay! Good news for you sprint users! They keep making useless investments! Your hard earned money does not only go to NASCAR now but also to the Pokémon franchise to have a bunch a kids walking around the store while you try to go in for service to figure out why your internet is slower than 56k with full bars.

That's better than what I see whenever I walk by my local sprint store. Place is always empty with one bored employee sitting there wishing they were somewhere else. That's every time I walk by. Meanwhile the AT&T store just a few stores down is always packed.

This game started out alright. They really needed to make some major gameplay, pokemon tracking, and general reliability improvements. People wanted to trade, like they used to do with pokemon cards. They wanted more interesting battling at gyms and the ability to challenge friends to a duel. Also the inconsistent readings of walking distances was especially bad. I would take the same lunchtime walk every day, and sometimes it counted as 1.5km, sometimes only 0.3.

They are shooting themselves in the foot by instead focusing on dumb features like adding new pokemon and expanding partnerships with companies like this. Literally about half of my peers played this game at launch, but now I can count on one hand the ones that still do. IMO, this game should go down as one of the biggest and short-lived fads in history.

Remember when these articles were posted every day? lol

Sprint and Starbuck are late to the party...Pokémon Go is over. The ship has sailed. This is like when 50 year old marketing directors walk in the room today and tell the CEO "we need to get on Facebook, it's the next big thing!

I've never seen any cell phone store packed.
