My son is learning to play poker. I don't mind him learning to bet, but every app I've looked at in the App Store has in-game purchase options for chips and other items that I'm not really interested in. Some of these get expensive, too, like $99 for 10,000 chips!!

I just want a simple app that will let him play something like 5-card stud without in-app purchases being flashed on screen every 5 seconds.

I don't mind paying for the app itself, but this is for a kid - not for an adult looking to rake up virtual (or real) cash.

Any suggestions??

Poker for Kids

Try them on "poker with friends" is a app similar to words with friends but you have to make the best poker hands to win. Although I know its not exactly poker, it teaches the value of the hands and they can play against their friends as well. If you want to play for cash I found this page http://www.iphonebettingapp.co.uk/best-real-money-iphone-apps/

I hope this helps you
