OK. I'm looking forward to my :apple:TV, but I'm beginning to be concerned about the Apple remote's range. My iMac is hooked up o my HDTV and I occasionally use Front Row with the remote, but the range sucks.

When sitting on the sofa ~9 feet away from the Mac, I still have to reach out my arm with the remote and point directly at the Apple on the iMac to get it to work with marginal consistency.

What's the effective range of your Apple remote? Use the Poll to answer.

Well then something must be wrong with either my remote or my iMac, 'cause it don't work at all from 12 feet. :( Maybe I'll take it to the Apple store next weekend.

I did have a bit of fun with Darwiin Remote earlier today which had me wondering why Apple didn't just do a Bluetooth remote.

Does anyone else (besides Nintendo) make a BT remote that'll work with the Mac.
