I was wondering what other's thoughts were about Day 1 DLC from Nintendo (gasp!).

It's stupid, and lacklustre to boot. Two extra dungeons that will likely be released months after most buyers will have completed the game and moved on. What do you get day one? An in-game Switch tee (because the one thing we want in a high-fantasy open-world RPG is immersion-breaking kit), bomb arrows and a gem to sell for rupees. *snore*

I have no problem with it being day one as the main game itself sure doesn't look like it was cut into pieces to sell some of them later on (as is with many other titles). Which is my main gripe with DLC.

I have no clue what the DLC contain so no comment on content and quality. The Mario Kart DLC were good value (although I stopped playing the game altogether but that's another thing) and I don't expect Zelda's to be half a**ed as well.

That being said, no idea if I'll get them - depends if I feel the need to carry on playing the game end of this year. Somewhat I doubt it since the main game seems to offer plenty of experiences but that's also months away so yea..

This is what is contained in the DLC. The treasure chest stuff I don't care about. The new story and new dungeons are what intrigues me...ffs, a new "Hard Mode", I only want that if the current difficulty is "Extra Hard" and the new mode will take it down a notch! :)

I pretty much like to play the plain vanilla game first, and not think that I'm missing out on anything. If there is extra stuff, I'd like to save that for a second run through (which I pretty much never ever do...).

I read that but "new original story" or "new dungeon" or "new map feature" doesn't say much. At least to me. I don't care about the expansion pass bonus but the new hard mode sounds intriguing (in theory).

The new hard mode sounds painful! But yes, intriguing. I loved Ocarina of Time Master Quest, after playing through the regular game. No way I could have started out with the MQ, though.

Ok, here is my new plan. I'm going to beat the game plain vanilla version...then I'm going to (finally) play Twilight Princess HD, use my Link wolf amiibo, then get the DLC for BotW, and then play through on hard mode with the Wolf amiibo.

I think...

Depends on the content of the "Original new story" (So I didn't vote, as none of the options fit).

I play Zelda for the stories, puzzles and setting. If its only a couple of dungeons that is just a reorder of existing content, then I am not interested. All the other fluff currently included is about as interesting for me as a peeled banana.

I'll end up buying just like I did with MK8 and Hyrule Warriors

I know, resistance is futile.

Minor spoiler
It looks like the in-game clothing (at least one bit) is a Switch T-shirt? I wonder what the Wii U owners think! :p

Without doubt yes. I'm going to be replaying this so much that by the time it's out I'm going to be thankful for something new :)

Only played the first 2 games on the NES and the game boy advance game. BOTW is on another level. Simply the best game i've played. EVER! Of course i bout the DLC.
