Hello :D. I've been surfing the web for quite a while now without finding any evidence if it's just me or if it's a common problem I am facing.

Unfortunately I installed the jailbreak on an 'updated over the air' iPad mini 2 (retina) + cellular. My bad! Now the iPad is stuck in an endless loop (apple logo, turn off, apple logo etc).

I can go into recovery/DFU mode but as soon as I try do a restore iTunes tells me an "error 11/17 has occurred".

If someone else is having the same problem, please state the following:
- Version of iPad
- With / Without cellular
- Updated over the air (to 7.0.4 or which version) or clean restore (to 7.0.4 or which version)

- iPad 2
- Wifi only
- Updated to 7.0.4 OTA + tried JB = bootloop
- DFU + restore/clean install of 7.0.4 + tried JB = boot loop

iPad 2 Wifi having bootloop problems if a known issue and I suspect they are working on a fix.

iPad 2 Wifi boot loop.
iPad mini Retina Cellular. Boot loop also.

Both updated from 7.0.4 with iTunes.

Yup. That's for sure. But I haven't seen anyone else having problems with iPad Mini 2.

But you aren't getting any problems with restoring, which is cool :) No errors?

Can you restore your iPad mini Retina Cellular? Or do you get errors?

Ah.. my bad.

I thought you meant any version of the iPad and not specifically the mini2.

No problems restoring though! Simple DFU + iTunes restore works fine.

Hope you get your issues sorted out with yours!

Errors. Just goes into continuos boot loop. Tried it 3 times. Definitely the program and again this is the cellular version.

you can DFU restore the ipad mini 2 if it gets stuck in a bootloop

No, at least I am not aware of how. I only get error 11 and error 17 in iTunes when I try to restore my iPad Mini 2 Retina + cellular. No problems of going into DFU but iTunes tells me to go home.

Trouble restoring? That sucks. Are you on the latest version of iTunes? I think latest version is 11.1.3

what webpage do you go to when you type in gs.apple.com in your address bar?

Oh. We might have found a problem :) I am transferred to Cydia. I am going to make some edits of the hosts and get back asap.

great! hopefully that solves the problem :)

Never seen error 11 or 17 with incorrect hosts file though. usually it's error 3194 for hosts file problem

Yup. It was the hosts. I've been using an old Macbook Pro that I haven't used for ages and guess what - some pesky edits existed in /private/etc/hosts.

If this works? Can you send me a PM with your address? I really want to reward you. (xmas time, yada yada you know :)

hahaha, you bring a smile to my face! :D

But it's not necessary, just glad that it fixed your problem

Hey, I insist. There must be 1-day delivery of swedish meatballs, herring or something similar. If you don't like that kind of stuff, let me at least send you a gift card at amazon or something.

To make a long story short - you've saved me tons of work and helped set a couple of deals. Why? I am stranded in the middle of nowhere (north of Sweden) with a capped cellular 4g/LTE connection at 5 kb/s for my iPhone 4s with not a single store offering mobile broadband modems and so on in a range of 200 miles. The only connection I relied on was my iPad Mini Retina Cellular connection with unlimited access.
