I for one have never purchased AppleCare for any iPhone. Ever. And I've had every iteration of iPhone since the 3G. But now with these repair costs I'm reconsidering.

Yes. For the first time ever. Mainly because of the cost of repair. Maybe in a year if I find I’m using a solid case and screen protector I’ll get a refund on the rest, but right now I want that reassurance. Also means I might try without a case and see how I go, at least for a while.
