POLL: Do you use iChat?

I have opened it a few times by mistake, but really see no reason to use it.

Does anybody here use iChat?

Do you have MobileMe? I use iChat daily with friends and family that either use AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) or have a .mac/mobileme account.

You're probably using MSN as you're from the UK, but there's no video conversation with that. Sign up for AIM and start using iChat - it's good fun and a nice messenger.

Nope i use my phone for yahoo im, on 24/7 for family and close friends And i use aim on my xp sp3 box for everybody else and a growing amount of random tech support to friends and random people.

I use iChat regularly but I also have Adium for those times when I'm chatting with friends/colleagues who are not AIM users (usually scheduled chat sessions).

cant use ichat over here in australia, no1 uses the accounts that are available. everyone uses hotmail/msn/gmail. adium is great because i can be signed on with msn, gmail and bonjour (for talking to people when i am at home) all at the same time. love the program!

while ichat has really good features, its just not configurable enough and it doesnt offer enough things for me to switch to it.

I have iChat for AIM and GChat contacts. Then I run Skype when I want to webcam with my relatives in India who do not use AIM.

I would prefer to use iChat, but I have to wait until it is made to interact with Messenger. Directly that is, no third party wrangling.

If iChat could connect to MSN I'd use it. But it will never happen and the hack is just too much effort.

I have a few people that I video chat with in iChat using my Google account, and I use Adium for my MSN and Facebook accounts.

I use iChat that uses my AIM account. Skype for audio, video conferencing.

I do not know a lot of people on iChat or AIM for that matter, but when I travel I use it a lot to chat with my wife.

If you reside in the UK (and all the people you know are from the UK), then iChat is 114.5MB of purely wasted hard disk space!

it can yes i believe.

i use adium more than anything else. so much less screen space used which is why i prefer it over all the other clients. iChat takes up too much.

I use iChat all the time. I just like the way it looks. If I have to talk on MSN, ICQ, Yahoo or the such, which is becoming less and less these days, I use adium. I tried adium over iChat, but that didn't last too long. Loving iChat, and will continue to use it.

Only very rarely to be honest. I use MSN to keep in touch with friends and family on my iMac more often, but still with no regularity.

Use iChat all the time for AIM and GMail. Adium's interface is pretty crap, and the feature list pretty poor (no video?!) and also is much slower. Plus, I don't use MSN so that's not an issue.

At any given time, I am usually on iChat, MSN and Yahoo all at once. However, most of my friends use AIM, so iChat is my primary chat app.

Like others, I use iChat and Skype. I'm a daily user.

Nobody I know uses a mac or has AOL so I have never even tried it.
