I like my computer to look like it's new. The background is the default Tiger background, and everything in my dock is an Apple app, plus the Applications folder and my Documents folder, for easy access. Yay.

Now and then I temporarily change my desktop to something else, but it always ends up being Aqua again.

What about top? It's possible to put it anywhere except the middle of the screen.:D

There "is" a way to do it via a hack or some sort of software but i do not know where to find it.

I have done the same thing with my documents and app folders, i alwys thought apple should have them in the dock by default.

Yep, the software is Terminal.app, the command you use is defaults with certain parameters, or edit ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.dock and change "orientation" and "pinning". :p

For the record, my dock is on the bottom in the normal place. I have the Applications folder too, and a downloads folder (I don't use my desktop for that - I use that for the picture).

It's strange because with most Macs being widescreen, the side location kinda makes sense. Still, it just doesn't work for me.

Mmm, I tried that too. Makes perfect sense. Ten minutes later I'd put it back at the bottom.
