Make sure you try a call that is longer than a minute. I made a few short calls earlier in the day and didn't notice anything, but I just made a 10 minute call and had it go to mute 3 times and speaker once.

Your thread title is asking for a double negative. It's a little confusing.

Yes, it does not work?

No, it does not work?

Regardless, this is a really worrisome issue.

Something you may want to add on there, is options for Yes, it is malfunctioning and I did a restore from a backup. Or No, it is not malfunctioning and I did a restore from a backup. It seems that people who restore from a backup are having issues.

How about Yes it IS malfunctioning and I did NOT restore from backup?

Yes mine is not working. And I have never restored from a backup before so that's not the issue. I'll be going into the apple store in October and exchanging my phone. 4.1 doesn't fix the proximity sensor issue and I'm part of the believers something will happen in October, hopefully.

Put it this way, I used my iPhone 3G for 2 years and not once did I ever face dial, mute, FaceTime, or speaker phone anyone. And I have to say ever since I've had the iPhone 4, I've done each one of those things atlases a handful. It's rather annoying to me and I will get it fixed by getting a new replacement. 4.1 doesn't seem to fix it and I've read that the newest replacements have fixed it. Also I'll wait until October to see if the antenna issues are fixed as well.

Both mine and my gf's iPhone proximity sensors work fine. She did accidentally hit mute once when she had the phone propped between her shoulder and face, but that would be understandable when you're shuffling the phone around like that.

Up until two days ago when I installed 4.1 I was hanging up on every call, putting them on loud-speaker, face-timing them.

Since installing I haven't had one single problem. Finally I have a phone I can use as a phone and I'm a happy bunny!

Which is why I'll be exchanging mine in October and hopefully a secret new design is out.

no chance, no new design could be secret as has to be in with the FCC, which would be leaked quicker than a man with the craps. plus why make a new design for october when they're busy on iPhone 5 to release in June?
