I didn't actually see any topic here about how much data people usually use (if there is one, Wasteland this one and link me to it)

So, how much data do you guys use on your phones. (NOT your data plan, just how much you usually use).

I use around 1GB average. Sometimes it's less sometimes it's more.

To be honest, I have never once looked at either my iPhone or my iPad's data usage

I just use it for what I need and let it roll

I gave up my unlimited on my iPhone and took a tether plan on AT&T
But I still have my unlimited on my iPad

I have no idea

I wish my iPhone had unlimited. If it did I would probably shoot beyond 20GB easily.

FYI, a quick way to see how much data you use is dial *data# in the phone dialer, and it will send you an SMS with your usage

Not likely being throttled

They way Verizon works, maybe not as soon as others.

Verizon does throttle it's top 5% of data users, but they only do it during times when the network is congested, vs. just flat out throttling users.

I generally use less than 200mb on my unlimited iPhone plan with AT&T. I've never used cellular data yet on my LTE iPad and treat it like a wifi only iPad. I'm almost always on wifi which is why my data usage is so low.

This will be an interesting poll. I am at the low end of the spectrum because I am on prepaid and because I have horrible service at my home and I can only use data when I'm out.

I have a 1GB cap on my data and use around 600MB each month. I'm either at home or at university majority of the time so I'm usually on wifi. Only use data when I'm on the bus/train/at work/wifi dies etc.

I will say I'm surprised. I was expecting the 2 - 4GB and the 4 - 6GB to be neck in neck but looks like most of you guys ≤1GB

I'm not 100% sure but it's between 4-7 GB a month.

I use about 50-80 GB a month off my home network. So far on my AT&T 4G Usb Aircard, I've used about 25 GB in the last two weeks. Streaming Netflix, radio, web surfing.

But if we talking just straight Verizon - iPhone then I use about 2-3GB a month (Unlimited data)

I have a 500 MB plan and have exceeded it twice since getting my iPhone in November. Both cases were special; one was when I was away from home for a couple of weeks (I put on a bigger plan for the month) and another I can't confidently explain (although I have a suspicion); a friend sent me a link to a 10-hour YouTube video which I promptly closed, but I suspect that the phone decided to download the file in the background even though I'd closed the YouTube app

ever since i got spotify, my data would go over 4 gigs easily. i had to make a lot of playlists available offline in order to avoid throttling because i'd get a warning text from at&t.

I tend to use less than 1GB a month. That's with a couple of hours of sending e-mails, streaming videos, browsing the web etc. every day in a place that doesn't have WiFi.

I have "unlimited" data with AT&T lol. Even though I don't use anywhere near the actual limit of 2 - 3GB I'm too stubborn to abandon the unlimited plan.

I always come in at under my 3GB limit. But my oldest son likes to stream YouTube vids while not on wifi, so he uses 5-6GB per month. He pays the extra $10/GB so I can't get on him too much.
