I'm planning to upgrade my iPad this August for an iPad 2, but if there will be an iPhone, iPod and maybe iPad refresh this Fall (September/October) then it would be wise to wait.

Now, do you think there will be an iPad 3 this fall?

Absolutely not. As plenty of other posters have pointed out, it doesn't make sense from a business standpoint. The iPad 2 isn't facing any major competition, hasn't been out for a year yet, and even if one WAS released this fall, Apple would have to deal with a lot of frustrated consumers.

Thanks to all for your replies, I thought the same way but I just wanted to make sure with people familiar with Apple products before making the choice!

In one sense, they'd be better off releasing it after Christmas. They'd sell a ton of the current model for holiday shopping, and then sell a ton of the new model to early adopters, iPad 1 owners, everyone else. The major reason to release a new one for the holidays is if sales are lacking or there is some competition. Neither is true.

I would agree that we could possibly see a February announcement. Anything earlier and I can't really see them doing that.

To echo the above, it really wouldn't make sense for Apple to introduce a new iPad at this time. Annual refreshes seem to be the best way of doing it.

I'm thinking around March time... No reason why, same reason all other rumours are brought about, by people thinking so...

Yes, I believe we see another iPad this year. Just before XMas enough on the shelfs to keep Apple the company #1 before Exxon

I don't think Apple really cares about being #1 (in that regard) to release a new iPad less than a year after the current one.

I don't think there will be, but I'm going to wait until the September event before I buy my iPad, just in case they announce one.

I guarantee the new iPhone will be out in either sept. or oct. The iPad, of course not. Apple isn't Microsoft
