Dilemma

If I use the 3GS carbon fiber by case-mate, I have the proximity sensor problem.

If I use it naked, I still have proximity sensor issues and the poor reception. Dropped calls left-handed.

And no matter what is used, the green blob shows up on indoor pictures under fluorescent light, whether or not LED flash is used.

I really wish I could keep this iPhone 4 because I have compared its screen to every other iPhone 4, and its max brightness is brighter than any other. And its min brightness is more dim than any other. So it looks amazing on full brightness, and can save lots of energy on lowest brightness.

Others I have seen have yellowish whites, not pure white.
I'm probably going to keep it just because I love its color temp and brightness and will deal with the reception by using a case.
Really need this proximity sensor issued fixed.
And hopefully I won't have to take pics of white walls or paper.
But I'm a math teaching assistant who uses whiteboard and white paper. :(

I occasionally see the proximity sensor problem regardless of whether it's naked or in a case.

FWIW i also have the antenna issue and the yellow camera.

Proximity sensor problems and reception problems.
No case or screen protector
Phone was set up as NEW, not from a backup.
